Farinha garners NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete
Wiley University women's cross country athlete Jean-Marie Farinha earns recognition as a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Daktronics Scholar-Athlete for her academic performance while competing.
Farinha earned the honor by maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, appearing on a signed eligibility certificate and attending the institution for a full year.
This is the fourth time she has earned the award. Farinha was a part of the 2023 women's soccer and cross country teams and the 2024 track and field team. She also earned Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar and made the conference honor roll twice.
In the fall, she helped the Lady Wildcats to a fourth-place finish at the 2024 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship.
