
Women's Cross Country wraps season at 2024 HBCUAC Championship
DANVILLE, Ala. - The Wiley University women's cross country team ends the 2024 season with a fourth-place finish at the 2024 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Championship Friday at the Oakville Indian Mounds Education Center Course.
Remi Moore was the Lady Wildcats' highest finisher in the six-kilometer race, finishing 18th at 31:12.92. Kaiden Taylor followed in 20th place, completing the course in 31:22.64. JaKatelyn Thomas ran 31:35.30 for 22nd place. Jean-Marie Farinha (32:40.86) and Kyla Deyon (37:54.41) completed Wiley's team score of 124 points.
Dillard University won its fourth straight title with 35 points. All five of its scoring runners finished in the top 15. Tougaloo College finished in a distant second place with 79 points. It had two runners finish in the top five. Talladega finished third with 81 points.
The Lady Wildcats have no graduating seniors and could return everyone. Head coach Christopher McConnell plans to hit the recruiting trail to strengthen the team for a higher finish in 2025.
