
Thomas runs PR at DBU Old Glory Gallop
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Running in her third collegiate race, Wiley University freshman JaKatelyn Thomas ran a personal best at Dallas Baptist University's Old Glory Gallop in Lynn Creek Park on Saturday.
Thomas finished the five-kilometer race in 26:28, which was over a minute faster than her previous best. She led the team for the third consecutive meet. Jean-Marie Farinha followed at 27:20. The meet featured over 40 schools and 400 athletes from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
The Lady Wildcats will head to the Ouachita Baptist University Tiger Invitational on Friday, their last meet before the 2024 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on October 18.
