Starks earns All-HBCUAC Honorable Mention
Wiley University volleyball player Shyla Starks was recognized as one of the top athletes in the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC), garnering All-HBCUAC Honorable Mention.
The conference head volleyball coaches decided on the All-HBCUAC Teams and superlative awards. Starks played in all 19 matches and led the team with 131 kills. Despite her team's struggles, she ranked in the top 10 with 2.26 kills per set. Starks recorded double-digit kills in six matches. She added 56 digs and six block assists.
Starks will build on this season's performance in her junior season. The Lady Wildcats finished 3-16 and placed ninth in the HBCU Athletic Conference.
