Women's Soccer hosts Tougaloo College
The Wiley University women's soccer team will return home for a Continental Athletic Conference match against Tougaloo College at 4 p.m. Sunday at Pemberton Field.

Wiley was supposed to play Arlington Baptist University on Friday but the game was canceled due to a lack of players for Arlington Baptist. Seniors Esmeralda Vazquez and Yajaira Hernandez will be honored on Sunday. The Lady Wildcats are searching for their first victory after falling 5-0 at Texas Wesleyan University on August 26. Leah Ramirez and Destiny Allison both spent time in the net. Ramirez made four saves while Allison stopped seven of 10 shots. The latter leads the CAC with 23 saves.
Samantha Rodriguez and Nadia Hernandez each put up two shots against Texas Wesleyan. They share the team lead with Deyanara Hernandez, Esmeralda Vazquez and Irma Garcia. Deyanara has scored the only goal for the Lady Wildcats in the opener against Nelson University on August 22.
Tougaloo opens the season on Sunday after playing an exhibition match against Mississippi University for Women and a scrimmage against Southwest Mississippi Community College. Last season the Lady Bulldogs went 0-2. This will be the first time the Lady Wildcats and Lady Bulldogs have met on the soccer pitch.
