Women's Soccer comes up short against North American

MISSOURI CITY, Texas - The Wiley University women's soccer team put up four shots but could not convert in a 1-0 loss against North American University Saturday at Ronald Thornton Junior High School.

Irma Garcia took two shots both on goal. Deyanara Hernandez and Esmeralda Vazquez each had a shot on goal. In her second career start, Destiny Allison stopped six shots.

Hernandez gave the Lady Wildcats an early chance. North American took control of the first half, putting up 10 shots with four on net. Genevieve Colon got one past Allison in the 32nd minute to put the Lady Stallions on the board.

Wiley (0-2-0) found its footing offensively in the second half. Garcia had an opportunity in the 60th and 66th minutes. Vazquez had a shot in the 67th minute. Allison gave the Lady Wildcats a chance, making four saves.

Their first road swing continues on Monday as the Lady Wildcats take on Texas Wesleyan University at 5 p.m. The Lady Rams are searching for their first victory after falling to Louisiana State University of Alexandria and Jarvis Christian University.
