Nerestant earns HBCUAC All-Defensive Team

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - After nearly averaging a double-double, Wiley University women's basketball player Jessica Nerestant was one of five players selected to the 2024-25 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) All-Defensive Team.

Nominations and votes were submitted by the head women's basketball coaches. Nerestant averaged 9.6 rebounds per game, which ranked seventh in the HBCUAC. She ranked fourth with 6.8 defensive rebounds per game. Nerestant recorded 11 double-doubles and had 11 games with multiple steals. She is a two-time HBCUAC Defensive Player of the Week. In 23 games, she has posted 219 rebounds, 36 steals and 11 blocks.

Nerestant's play on defense helped the Lady Wildcats lead the HBCUAC in opponents' field goal percentage at 34.3, which ranks 10th nationally. Wiley ranks second with 43.1 rebounds per game.
