Goldsby wraps Historic Season at 2024 NAIA National Championship
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Wiley University men's cross country runner Javoun Goldsby concludes his monumental junior season by running in the 2024 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men's Cross Country National Championship with over 300 athletes Friday at Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
Goldsby finished the eight-kilometer race in 32:57 in temperatures under 40 degrees. He is wrapping up his junior season by claiming the 2024 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) individual title and six Runner of the Week awards. Goldsby was also selected as the Preseason HBCUAC Runner of the Year.
"He had never experienced this weather before," head coach Christopher McConnell said. "I'm extremely proud of him and the work he put in this season. I'm confident that he will repeat as the conference champion and we will have the pieces to win the 2025 conference title."
Along with Goldsby, the Wildcats are expected to return All-HBCUAC athletes Jaylon Donson and Ameariun Harper.
