
Men's Cross Country concludes OBU Tiger Invitational
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Wiley University men's cross country team ran its final meet before the 2024 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Championship at Ouachita Baptist University's Tiger Invitational on Friday.
Wiley competed against mostly athletes from National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II schools. National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) institutions Texas A&M University-Texarkana and LeMoyne Owen College competed.
Javoun Goldsby led the team as he finished the eight-kilometer course in 29:57.03, just over a six-minute mile pace. Joseph Levier III and Jaylon Donson followed at 32:04.7 and 32:25.3, respectively. Jaden Cole (34:38.6), Ameariun Harper (35:47.2) and Channing Arvie (35:55.9) rounded out Wiley's finishers.
The Wildcats will head to Danville, Ala. for the 2024 HBCUAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on October 18 at Oakville Indian Mounds Park. They seek their first title since winning the Red River Athletic Conference in 2014.
