Men's Soccer unable to cash in against Florida College

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Wiley University men's soccer put six shots on goal but could not find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss against Florida College in the Continental Athletic Conference Classic at the Grizzly Soccer Complex.

The Wildcats (2-8-0, 1-2-0 CAC) dropped their fifth straight match. They fell behind in the seventh minute. Stephen Gaskin and Habimana Janvier had shots in the 26th and 27th minutes. Gaskin put up another shot that was stopped by Florida College's goalkeeper Filip Borka in the 37th minute.

Janvier, Anthony Ulloa and Gaskin placed shots on goal in the second half, but they were all stopped. Wiley was outshot 15-12 overall. Janvier took four shots. Gaskin followed with three with all of them on goal. Aaron Castillo and Ulloa each had two. Melvin Bonilla started at goal but only played a little over 11 minutes. Santos Perez relieved him and stopped four shots.

The Wildcats won't return to the field until October 24 when they compete in the inaugural Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Invitational in Jackson, Mississippi. They will face Oakwood University and Tougaloo College. The schedule is to be announced.
