PINEVILLE, La. - Habimana Janvier scored his second goal of the season, but it wasn't enough for the Wiley University men's soccer team to overcome an early deficit in a 4-1 loss against Louisiana Christian University Wednesday at Wildcat Field.
Janvier found the back of the net in the 81st minute for his seventh career goal but that was after Wiley gave up goals in the 19th, 23rd, 52nd and 65th minutes. It was outshot 21-12. Anthony Ulloa and Janvier each had two shots on goal. Peter Tu had two shots and Fabrice Mutabazi had a shot on goal. Santos Perez stopped seven of 11 shots.
Louisiana Christian (3-1-1) had more corner kicks with six to three for Wiley. Eleven of the 19 fouls called were against Louisiana Christian. A player from each team received a yellow card.
Wiley (2-5, 1-0 CAC) will not play until September 27 when it visits Arlington Baptist University. The Wildcats defeated the Patriots 5-1 at Pemberton Field on September 6.
