Ulloa's hat trick lifts Men's Soccer over Tougaloo College

Wiley University men's soccer player Anthony Ulloa recorded a hat trick and provided an assist to push the Wildcats to a 4-1 victory over Tougaloo College in a Continental Athletic Conference match Sunday at Pemberton Field.

The Wildcats' second straight victory marks the second time they've won consecutive matches since the program returned in 2023. They finish 2-1 at home.

Ulloa started the scoring in the 13th minute. He scored on a PK in the 50th minute and drilled a shot from nearly 30 yards in the 51st minute to increase Wiley's lead to four. In the 47th minute, his shot deflected to his teammate Stephen Gaskin, who kicked it into the upper right corner of the net for his third in the last three matches. Melvin Bonilla picked up his second victory in goal and held Tougaloo scoreless for over 61 minutes. Santos Perez played the final 28:30 and stopped two of three shots.

"We played great," head coach Andrew Benitez-Piraino said. "We've developed chemistry. We're going to keep going from here."

The Wildcats outshot the Bulldogs 22-10, including 8-5 on shots on goal. They also had more corner kick opportunities with three to Tougaloo's two. The game was physical as 26 fouls were called and five cards were issued, including a red.

Wiley will travel to William Carey University for a 6 p.m. match on Saturday.
