FT. WORTH, Texas - August 27, 2024 - The Wiley University men's soccer team fell behind early and could not recover in a 4-1 loss at Texas Wesleyan University Monday at Martin Field.
The Wildcats (0-3-0) allowed two goals in the first 10 minutes of the game. They had two scoring opportunities in the first half but were stopped by Texas Wesleyan goalkeeper Alex Tonietto. It gave up goals in the 72nd and 88th minutes. Stephen Gaskin scored his first career goal just before time expired. Wiley was outshot 16-5. Seventeen fouls were called and a yellow card was issued.
Gaskin had two shots. Luis Hernandez put up a shot on goal. Kevin Rosales took a shot. Melvin Bonilla stopped four of eight shots. The Wildcats will return home on September 6 and host Arlington Baptist University.
