Devin Ellis, Men's Basketball

Devin Ellis was a key player on the 2019-20 team which advanced to the Red River Athletic Conference semifinals. He started 24 of 26 games – averaging 11.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. He scored a season-high 21 points against Our Lady of the Lake University on February 22. His career-high in rebounds came against Paul Quinn College when he grabbed 15. Ellis recorded two double-doubles. He had 17 double-figure scoring games and three double digit rebounding performances. Ellis was an All-Red River Athletic Conference honorable mention. He earned a spot on the All-Tournament team after averaging 17 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
Before Wiley College, Ellis played at Lamar State Port Arthur College. In his final season, he started 31 of 32 games and averaged 7.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. He had 10 double-digit scoring games with a high of 23. In six games, Ellis recorded double-digit rebounds.
Ellis went to Beaumont Central High School in Texas. He played basketball, baseball and football. His team was Class 4A state runner-up.
He is an education major. His favorite music is Hip-hop, rap and R&B and enjoys eating at Waffle House. Ellis’ hero is his grandmother.
